Picture Day!

I realized I had all these cute pictures of Charlie on my camera that were just screaming "blog me! blog me!" So considered them blogged!

Charlie never knew how much fun life could be until he took a ride in the laundry basket

"Don't botha me, I'm reading" (now there's a grumpy face for ya! :)

"B- I- N- G- OOOOOOOOOOOO and Bingo was his name-o!"

Now you see them, now you don't! (cute little bottom teeth! plus check out that cute hair-do (he just got out of the bath) :)

The comings and goings of Charlie

Well I haven't "blogged" for a while now. I guess you could say my life is boring . . that or just extremely repetitive so there is nothing new to write about. Let's see, what's new? Charlie is eating finger foods for the first time and it's hilarious! He loves having them in his mouth and gnawing on them but as soon as he swallows he gets this look on his face like "what the heck is this??" and proceeds to spit it out. He's a cutie. Needless to say he doesn't get to eat finger foods very often :)

I can't believe he'll be seven months on Friday! Time really is going by a lot faster now that he's not Mr Grumpy Pants all the time. He is almost to the point where he could start crawling any day now (which is kind of scary!) he gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth and yesterday he even got into a sitting position from his crawl position -- it was so cool! What a strong little guy.

Okay, I guess I need to blog about something that doesn't involve Charlie :) Let's see -- hmmmm. . . yep, nothing. :) Let's face it, Charlie is my life now! But something I haven't mentioned, we took Charlie on his first weekend away from home last week. For Jaren's mom's b-day we all (meaning all of Jaren's siblings and their kids) went to Wyoming and stayed at his uncles house (who was out of town). Charlie even slept through the night and everything! I was very impressed. He didn't nap very well but he was a happy boy all the same. Jaren and I went four wheeling for the first time and it scared me to death! I liked driving one if the terrain was flat or uphill (I didn't like downhill, so scary!) but it was even worse when I rode as a passenger (there is nothing to really hold on to and you feel like you have no control). So I don't think I'll be doing that agian anytime soon but it was fun to try.

Well that's my life for ya! I thought I would post a picture of Charlie when he was first born so we can all remember how cute and small he was (now that he is 18 pounds! what a cutie)

Isn't he sweet?
So tiny!

Happy 4th of July!

Well, since both my boys are taking a nap I thought I would write a quick blog. We started performing Beauty and the Beast this week (after a week of rehearsals every night so it feels like we've been running the show for a month!) So far it's been going really well. It hasn't been my favorite play to be in but it's fun to be a plate for the two songs I get to be one (Be Our Guest and Human Again). Sometimes I catch myself getting jealous of the girl who plays Belle but when I see her perform I realize there is no way I could have done even half as good a job as she does (which just makes me even more jealous!) She really is amazing -- I hope someday to be able to be amazing like that. But the guy who plays Lumiere is the best I think (he's soooooo hilariously funny!) And the beast isn't too bad either so I'm pretty proud of our little community cast (of course none of the main characters are from Kaysville but that's okay right? :)

Anyway, our fourth of July was very fun. We had a performance at 3:00 so we were able to watch fireworks and everything afterwords. We went over to me mum's and had a nice BBQ with the glads and then we lit our fireworks and watched Kaysville's on my parents front lawn. Charlie slept through the whole thing but I bet if he had been awake he would have loved it (Oscar got to come out and watch them with us and he didn't even try to eat one firework this time! what a good pooch!)

Sorry this is a boring blog -- nothing too exciting has been happening around here :) But I'll keep you updated if it does!

This is Charlie practicing his sitting up techniques -- you go boy! And here's one of Oscar when he was a puppy (wasn't he the cutest puppy!)

Our Future Computer Game Programmer

Charlie's new favorite toy is the laptop -- so cute! He pretends to type on it for a minute and then will eventually try and see what it tastes like. I just had to get a video of him trying to be like his Dad :) In other news, he still isn't showing any interest in crawling but sure loves to roll about the room. He also is trying all different kinds of food, peas and bananas seem to be his favorites so far (not together of course :) We even let him suck on a little piece of watermelon and he LOVED that. He has two bottom teeth that are about half way through his gums now so we try not to let him put our fingers in his mouth anymore (ouch!)

We have another couple interested in our house if they can get the financing. So we're keeping our fingers crossed that they can. If all else fails we've thought about renting our house (our neighbors had their sign up for 3 days and had a million calls! they are moving out at the end of the week). So apparently renting in Kaysville is really hot right now. We would much rather sell then rent but at least it gives us another option.

Anyway, that's all that's new so far in my life. The play I'm in, Beauty and the Beast, is about to open next week -- craziness!!! It's been fun to get out of the house but it's my least favorite play so far (it's really boring being in the ensemble because we are only in the first act at the very beginning and then at the very end so we are just sitting backstage for over an hour -- pretty boring!) But oh well, what are you going to do? Hopefully the auidence will enjoy it, the costumes are really fun and we have some decent actors and actresses in the lead rolls so we'll see how it all comes together!

See ya guys!

You're on top of the world Charlie!

Charlie is 6 months old today! I can't believe it!! He is growing up so fast -- I've tried to enjoy each milestone along the way but I must admit that each day he gets more and more fun and I'm so glad he isn't 3 months old anymore! :) I know everyone says they adore newborns but the older he gets the more he reacts to whats around him and the more crazy fun I get to have with him. We read books together (okay, I read and he tries to eat the book :), I feed him oatmeal and other assortments of baby food as he spits them back at me while practicing his raspberry blowing skills, his favorite dance is the Mambo and he's decided instead of crawling he just needs to roll around the room to get around. So much more fun then just crying all the time eh? (which is what he used to do until he was 3 months). So though I admit newborns are cute I wish all babies were 6 months when they were born! (of course I wouldn't want to give birth to that big of a baby-- whoa!!!!! :)

Anyway, I'll upload some 6 month old pictures when I get the chance but since I never put pictures up of Charlie's baby blessing I thought I'd do that instead. And I just want to apologize to those of you I didn't tell about the baby blessing. We only told our families for some reason -- it didn't even dawn on me to invite friends and stuff! We didn't have a big gathering afterward or anything, we just wanted to keep it simple and sweet. So here are the pictures -- He was blessed on March 30, 2008 when he was three and half months old.

What a sweet baby, look at those red cheeks! Poor kid, he takes after his mum! Thanks Em for the cute outfit you let us borrow, doesn't he look like a little angel? :)

Charlie, Oscar and the BUBBLES!

Sometimes when Charlie gets fussy I'll blow bubbles for him to make him happy -- who knew it would make Oscar happy (and want to eat them) and then make Charlie laugh? Soooo cute! So now we all get entertained by the bubbles :) Isn't Charlie's laugh fun? It's so hard to get him to do it so I had to record it for posterity in case he never laughs again (just kidding -- I hope!) Sorry about the bad recording -- I'm trying to blow bubbles and hold the camera at the same time.

Anyway, just wanted to post this cute video and let everyone (and by everyone I mean Emily and my Mom who are the only ones I've really told about this blog for some reason :) that Charlie and I are doing well. You can see the very top of his first tooth coming through -- and it's killin' him! Poor little guy. I hope it comes all the way out soon so he will feel better and then we'll all feel better.

Peace Out!

Video Time!

Here's Charlie rolling all the way over just for you guys! Sorry about the bad lighting, I'm using my camera as a video camera instead of the camcorder. But hey, he's still cute right? We sure wish we were there in Canada with you guys! Charlie sends his love and says he can't wait to play when you guys come in August!

We had two people come through our house this weekend! They both acted like they liked it but neither has called back or anything. . .but maybe tomorrow?? We'll keep our fingers crossed. But it was nice to at least have people interested in our house for once since we haven't had any interest pretty much all week. We'll let you know how it goes.

Oh, one more thing. Sorry the blog still isn't cute. I should probably stop saying I'm going to do it and just do it when I get a chance and surprise you all :)

Charlie says "Where's Grandma? Where's Grandpa? I don't understand!"
